Adapt Perfectly to Any Style

Plain dyed silk crepe de chine fabric excels in color performance due to its unique fabric texture, which absorbs dyes exceptionally well. This even and smooth fabric is easy to cut and sew, making it perfect for sewing enthusiasts. The thinner fabric is translucent, such as 12 momme and 14 momme, and is suitable for flowy or alluring garments. The 16 momme and 18 momme fabrics are moderately thick and can directly make clothes. While the thicker 30 momme and 40 momme fabrics can offer understated luxury for fall and winter garments.

Handling Fabric Shrinkage Issues

Plain dyed silk crepe de chine fabric has a shrinkage rate of approximately 9-12%. It’s crucial to account for this when designing and producing your products by allowing extra space for potential shrinkage. If your fabrics haven’t undergone pre-shrinking, you can take steps to prevent shrinkage.

Start by removing any impurities from the fabric and then soak it in cold water with a pinch of salt for 10-15 minutes,  using approximately 0.2 grams of salt per meter of the fabric.

Next, rinse the fabric thoroughly with clean water, and add a few drops of white vinegar during the rinsing process. Avoid wringing out the fabric, gently press out the excess water and let it air dry naturally.

Following these steps will reduce the likelihood of shrinkage while maintaining the fabric’s softness and luster.

Careful Washing Guidelines

Silk fabrics require meticulous care to preserve their texture. Avoid prolonged soaking or the use of bleach. Whenever possible, opt for dry cleaning. In the case of hand washing, remember two essential elements: a neutral detergent and lukewarm water. Always wash silk fabrics separately. After washing, gently roll them in a clean towel to remove excess moisture before air-drying them in a location away from the sun.

Note on Color Difference

Due to variations in individual color perception and the impact of factors such as monitors, resolution, and photography lights, there may be differences in the perceived color of fabrics. We recommend referring to the actual fabric color for accuracy.
